When it comes to television from yesteryear, there is no comedy that I like better than "Green Acres." That has to be one of the funniest shows ever on television. It has some of the most creative writing of any sitcom I can think of. The cast of characters are unforgettable, and some of the things that take place, like a tractor wheel falling off when you point to it, and having the people blow up the bridge over Simpson's Swamp in an attempt to set up their own Kingdom are unlike any comedy that came before it or has come along since. It is a shame that it wasn't renewed after season 6, when CBS decided to get rid of all of the rural based shows to have more appeal to those living in urban areas. I was very happy when they finally made the entire show available on DVD.
